Le Star of the Seas est le troisième navire de la flotte Royal Caribbean à utiliser le GNL (Gaz Naturel Liquéfié). Le recours au GNL, carburant propre, contribue à abaisser de près de 25 % l’empreinte carbone du paquebot et à éliminer les particules fines. Par ailleurs, il est équipé d’un dispositif d’alimentation à quai et de systèmes permettant de récupérer la chaleur résiduelle.
